Our Therapy Modalities

At ThriveMind Psychotherapy, we believe that no two healing journeys are alike. That’s why we draw on a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to the unique needs of each client. Whether you’re seeking support for trauma, anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges, we select approaches that best fit your goals, preferences, and readiness for change.

Our work is rooted in trauma-informed care, meaning we prioritize safety, empowerment, and collaboration in every session. Some clients may benefit from structured, skills-based strategies, while others need a space to process memories and emotions in depth. Many find healing through a combination of both.

Below, you’ll find an overview of the therapy modalities we use. Click “Learn More” under any approach to explore in greater detail.

EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a leading treatment for trauma and PTSD. EMDR helps clients safely reprocess painful experiences so they no longer feel overwhelming.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying unhelpful patterns, clients learn new ways to cope with anxiety, depression, and stress.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT combines mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation skills to help clients manage intense emotions and build healthier relationships.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own role. Through self-compassion, clients learn to heal wounded parts and reduce inner conflict.

Play Therapy

Children naturally communicate through play. Play therapy allows kids to process emotions, build coping skills, and recover from trauma in a developmentally appropriate way.

Trauma-Focused CBT
(TF-CBT)

TF-CBT is a specialized approach for children and adolescents impacted by trauma. It integrates CBT skills with trauma processing and family support.

Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET)

NET helps clients organize and process multiple traumatic experiences by weaving them into a coherent life narrative, reducing the emotional weight of memories.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)

PE is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that uses gradual exposure to reduce fear, avoidance, and distress connected to traumatic memories.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

CPT helps clients identify and reframe “stuck points” — unhelpful beliefs that develop after trauma — fostering new perspectives and recovery.

Every client’s healing process is unique. At ThriveMind Psychotherapy, we tailor these approaches to your needs, whether that means focusing on one modality or blending several. If you’re curious about which method might be the best fit for you, we invite you to schedule a free consultation. Together, we’ll design a therapy plan that supports your growth, resilience, and long-term healing.
